Donation Matching

If you are a larger donor and want to maximize the effectiveness of your.donation, please consider joining our donation matching program.   Studies have shown that donors are more likely to give if their contributions are matched, and one in three say they’d make a larger donation if a match were available.  We at Bridges & Balm can attest to that as our 2024 Holiday Funding Program was a great success and we netted $15,000 in matching funds by matching up to $200 per donation.  It turns out that Bridges & Balm donors LOVE donation matches!

Donation matches can be customized at almost any level.  Some of the common criteria are:

  1. Match amount per donation (i.e. match the first $200 of donations);

  2. Specify maximum donation period or total maximum donation match amount (i.e. the next 7 days or maximum donation match commitment of $7,500)

  3. Donation matches can be earmarked for either fund (i.e. worker or survivor fund) and/or for specific conditions within either fund;

  4. Pretty much any other criteria that you define is open for consideration.

While larger donation matching offers are more successful, it doesn't require a large financial commitment to participate in a donation match program!  We can combine multiple individual donation matching proposals into a larger one to make it more compelling.  For example, if there were four donation matching proposals that limited the maximum commitment to $5,000 each, we could combine them into a donation match program for the first $20,000 donated.  We can also combine the donation match amount per donation to increase the match amount (i.e. four donation proposals matching up to $100 per donation could be packaged into a one matching up to $400 per donation).
